Space Camp 2025

Global Travel Launches Learning

Space Camp 2025 – a journey that took students to the United States, from the bright lights of New York City to the launch pads of NASA.

Our travels were more than sightseeing – they were about stretching young minds, sparking new passions, and building the confidence to thrive in a global world.

Not just for science enthusiasts, Space Camp attracted students with diverse passions.

New York City – Alive with Energy

“We landed at 11pm and the city was still alive! It never sleeps.”

Our students explored iconic landmarks like Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial, and the High Line walking tour, where they uncovered New York’s rich history and green innovation. The experience helped students build independence and experience life in a truly global city — all while supported by careful planning and strong safety measures.

Space Camp, Alabama – STEM Brought to Life

“It was like astronaut boot camp – high ropes, scuba diving, real mission simulations!”

Based next to a NASA facility and military base, Space Camp delivered hands-on learning in science, teamwork, and leadership. Students experienced real flight simulators, G-force and zero-gravity training, and even explored career paths beyond engineering – like communications, marketing, and logistics.

Kennedy Space Center, Florida

“Seeing Space Shuttle Atlantis in real life… it brought everything together. It was incredible.”

After Space Camp, visiting NASA’s Kennedy Space Center helped students connect theory to reality. It deepened their understanding of design, innovation, and space history. And with time at Universal Studios, they also had the chance to relax, have fun, and explore independently in a safe, supported environment.

Global learning changes lives. It’s why we offer programs that take students beyond the classroom and into the world — helping them discover who they are, what they’re capable of, and what their future might hold.

Student Perspectives

Here are just a few highlights from Cedar, Sam, Krys and Archie, shared in their own words:

Sam Morton, Year 12

Favourite ride at Universal Studios: The Mummy

“Despite not having a passion for the sciences, I never felt excluded or out of place. Everyone had the same experience, regardless of their background. It was my first time travelling overseas and it really inspired me to see more of the world. Being away from family helped me grow a lot in terms of independence.”

Cedar Mandy, Year 12

Favourite ride at Universal Studios: The Hulk Coaster

“I’ve always loved both science and drama — I’m studying Biology, Psychology and Drama, and I’m playing Roxie Hart in Chicago. It’s a big commitment, but it never feels like it because the community is so supportive. Space Camp had that same feeling — it brought students together from different year levels and created this strong sense of connection. I’ve travelled before, but this was such a unique way to do it. I’m excited to keep exploring the world.”

Krys Syrota, Year 11

Favourite ride at Universal Studios: The Hulk Coaster

“When I got home from Space Camp and was asked to talk about my experiences, I couldn’t find the words to express how amazing it was. How do you articulate the inspiration the experience gave me; the friendships and sense of community that developed across two weeks of international group travel; the independence of visiting another country; the gratitude and perspective I acquired? Space Camp didn’t change my dream of becoming a marine biologist, but it showed me how extraordinary a career in science can be by exploring the role, duties, and skills of an astronaut. Being particularly interested in science and learning about the incredible professional achievements in this space has motivated me to try to do the same in my future career.

Since returning, I have noticed small changes in my life, such as how I now wave to people in the hallways who I went on this adventure with that I didn’t know before and how, though it was amazing to travel to America and see New York, I never really understood how fortunate I am to live in a city as pretty and accessible as Melbourne.”

Archie Douglas, Year 10

Favourite ride at Universal Studios:  Rip Saw Falls

“Space Camp was one of the best things I’ve ever done. The group was supportive with the best attitude that I have ever experienced at CHS. This was the first time I had ever travelled without family, to a place I couldn’t imagine being father away from home. I made new friendships and strengthened old ones, all the while learning about STEM and getting hands on with the simulated missions. I like a mix of subjects, my favourites being history and science. Like some of my travelling peers, I am also part of the upcoming Chicago musical.

The Space Camp program itself was informative, fun and showed me potential career opportunities in space-related fields. I was proud to take home the ‘Right Stuff’ award, as awarded by the team that run Space Camp, due to my enthusiasm and contribution to the team activities. It was a blast!”
