As a government school, we adhere to the enrolment placement priorities set out by the Department of Education:
- Students for whom Camberwell High School is the nearest neighbourhood school
- Students who reside permanently with a sibling attending the school
- Where the regional director has restricted the enrolment, students who reside nearest the school
- Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds
- Students in order of proximity of their home to the school
- Seeking to attend a school outside your zone
You have the choice to seek enrolment at a school that is not your local school. Your child may be offered a place if the school has sufficient accommodation.
Zones and Placement
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.
Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school. Your school zone is determined based on your permanent residential address. Our school also has additional capacity available to welcome students who are outside of our school zone.
Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their local school. Students may enrol at another school if there are available places.
For more information about our school zone, please contact our contact our school at enrolments@camhigh.vic.edu.au. For answers to frequently asked questions about school zones, visit School zones.
Year 7
Government School Student
All Victorian government primary schools follow the statewide Year 6 to 7 placement timeline. The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child at a Victorian government secondary school. Applications for Year 7 open at the start of Term 2.
Victorian government primary schools manage the Year 7 placement process for their Year 6 students in accordance with the timeline. At the start of Term 2, primary schools will distribute information packs to parents and carers.
You can find more information about applying for Year 7 placement at Moving from primary to secondary school.
Non-government School Student
If your child is enrolled in a Catholic or independent primary school, you should apply directly to Camberwell High School.
The application process follows the same timeline as for government schools.
