Give your child the opportunity to experience secondary school learning through our exciting Grade 4 Masterclasses at Camberwell High School.

Designed especially for curious and creative primary school students, our free masterclasses provide a fun and engaging introduction to specialist learning areas while helping students build confidence in a secondary school environment. Led by passionate teachers in our outstanding learning spaces, each session encourages students to explore new ideas, develop skills and connect with like-minded peers.

From science experiments and game development to music, drama, sport and mathematics, there is something to inspire every learner.

Sessions run from 9.15am – 11.00am
Places are limited and bookings are essential.

Register your child to attend 1 or 2 of the 2026 Masterclass subjects that will inspire their interests and depth of learning.

English – Tuesday 4 August 
Join us in our beautiful, light-filled library for a journey into creative writing. Guided by our teaching specialist, students will enjoy a read-aloud of a high-quality children’s book before exploring its themes and characters. Then, through a focused creative writing session, they’ll unlock their imagination and discover the power of expressing themselves through words.

Mathematics – Wednesday 5 August 
Step into the world of mathematical thinking with our engaging and hands-on maths masterclass. Designed for curious problem-solvers, this session challenges students to think creatively, work collaboratively, and explore different ways to approach real-world puzzles. It’s a chance to stretch your mind, discover the fun in numbers and experience the depth of learning that happens at ‘big school’.

Drama – Wednesday 12 August 
“To be, or not to be, that is the question.” Whether you’re a budding star or curious about the magic behind the scenes, our Drama Masterclass is your chance to step into the world of performance. Explore acting, voice, movement, and stagecraft in a fun, supportive environment led by our experienced drama teacher. Discover the confidence, creativity, and collaboration that bring the stage to life!

Music – Wednesday 19 August
Join one of Victoria’s top-performing government school music programs, even if you’ve never played an instrument before. We’ll give you a go! Hear our ensembles perform, try out real instruments, and be part of the band. It’s the perfect way to discover the joy of making music!

Sport – Thursday 20 August
Come and try a morning of sport where energy, teamwork, and fun take centre stage. Stretch out on our impressive sports field and put your skills to the test with a series of engaging, active challenges. It’s the perfect way to move, play, and discover what sport at ‘big school’ is all about!

Digital Technologies – Friday 4 September 
Our Game Design masterclass teaches students to design and modify algorithms by creating video games. Start with key principles of programming using a visual language, then brainstorm and develop your own game in small groups. To finish, we’ll play each other’s games. This fun and creative session introduces the fundamentals of computer science.

Science – Inspiring Curious Minds – TBA
Discover the wonders of science through hands-on experiments, investigations and exciting discoveries.

Place a lab coat on and experience hands-on science experiments with guidance from our passionate teacher and VCE student mentors. Get inspired to engage with important societal issues, just like a real scientist!

We open our doors to the wider community as much as we possibly can to give you first-hand experience of our school’s strengths.
