Enrolments

Overview

We know choosing the right school for your family is an important decision. Enrolment enquiries are encouraged to connect with us on your journey to applying for a place.

Complete an Enrolment Enquiry Form.

As a government school, we adhere to the enrolment placement priorities set out by the Department of Education:

  • Students for whom Camberwell High School is the nearest neighbourhood school
  • Students who reside permanently with a sibling attending the school
  • Where the regional director has restricted the enrolment, students who reside nearest the school
  • Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds
  • Students in order of proximity of their home to the school
  • Seeking to attend a school outside your zone

You have the choice to seek enrolment at a school that is not your local school. Your child may be offered a place if the school has sufficient accommodation.

Zones and Placement

Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones.

Students residing in our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. Our school also has additional capacity available to welcome students who are outside of our school zone.

The Department provides guidance through the Enrolment: Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations.

You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.

Year 7

Government School Student

Application for Year 7 Placement forms are made available to families via your current primary school to complete and return in May. Your primary school will then forward the form to your first-preference high school.

You will receive notification of your placement from your primary school in August. At that time, you can choose to accept the placement or lodge an appeal if needed.

Non-government School Student

If your child is enrolled in a Catholic or independent primary school, you should apply directly to Camberwell High School.

The application process follows the same timeline as for government schools.
