Principal’s Welcome

Camberwell High School (CHS) started in 1941 with 350 girls and boys. Now, over 900 students learn here. Our school is proud of its rich history and is future focused. We have a diverse community of staff, students, and parents. Together, we have established shared beliefs about the qualities our learners demonstrate.

As a long-standing Principal, I take pride in our school. CHS provides opportunities for all to participate and achieve in the Arts, Technologies, Mathematics, Sciences, Humanities, Languages, Health and Physical Education.

“Disco Consulere Aliis” is our motto, meaning learning to be considerate of others. Our values are achievement, creativity, respect, and responsibility. We aim to develop learners who excel and have high expectations for themselves in all aspects of life.

Our Vision for Learning is a key document outlining our educational vision. We focus on transformative, dynamic learning that fosters growth and positive relationships. Teachers plan together to provide varied learning opportunities. Teachers encourage students to explore ideas deeply and take increasing responsibility for their learning as they mature.

The school’s Strategic Plan lists the key areas for the school. It has specific improvement targets. The document provides a framework for the School Council. It is for the whole school community to use. It ensures that we keep improving student learning.

The Annual Implementation Plan is written each year unpacks the Strategic Plan. Specific targets are set each year to assist the school in working toward meeting Strategic Plan goals.
