Grade 6 to Year 7 Transition 2027
As part of the state-wide Year 6 to 7 transition process set out by the Department of Education (DE), we’ve outlined some key steps to support you and your child as you begin your journey into our school community.
Key dates to keep in mind:
Information Packs: The Department of Education released the 2026–2027 information packs on Thursday 2 April. These packs were distributed through government primary schools to all Grade 6 students transitioning to Year 7 in 2027.
Applications for Placement: Applications are due on Friday 8 May and should be submitted via your child’s primary school. For government school students, the primary school will forward the application to your nominated first-preference secondary school.
Notification of Placement: You will receive your child’s placement outcome from your primary school on Wednesday 24 June.
For families in Catholic or independent primary schools: You are welcome to apply directly to us. The application process follows the same timeline as government schools. For more information about the transition from primary to secondary school, please click here.
Year 8 - 12 Enrolments
There are 3 steps to successful enrolment at Camberwell High School:
Step 1: Complete the Application to Enrol Form.
Step 2: You will be contacted by a member of the junior/senior school regarding the availability of a place and the offer of an interview, which is conditional based on vacancies at the relevant year level.
Step 3: If a place is offered, an invitation to complete an application form will be provided to finalise enrolment.
If you have previously registered online to tour our school or made an enrolment enquiry, you can fast-track the application process by using the log-in information you previously used.

Tours run regularly throughout the school year, and we encourage families to attend multiple events and seek advice from our admissions team to ensure that Camberwell High School is the right school for your child.
